Look for installation this coming week of a nearly 30-foot menorah in McKeldin Square at the Inner Harbor. It will be the second year the giant symbol of Hanukkah will grace one of the city’s busiest corners. |

After a long caravan of cars with Chanukah Menorahs perched on their roofs and escorted by Baltimore City Police made their way down a wet Jones Falls Expressway, members of the Baltimore Jewish community joined in celebrating Chanukah. |

Ironically, the menorah will be bordered by Light Street on two sides of the block. The menorah was dedicated by Howard Brown in honor of his daughter, Esther Ann. |

The Grand Prix of Baltimore returns to city streets next week, and Chabad of Downtown and Moishe House are teaming up to get young Jewish adults in the spirit well before drivers start their engines.

The procession left drove onto the JFX to the Inner Harbor. It culminated in McKeldin Square, where a menorah lighting ceremony, live musical entertainment, and 500 hot latkes, 500 donuts, 500 bottles of spring water and 20 gallons of hot apple cider awaited us. |

Members of the Maryland Jewish community joined Baltimore leaders for the lighting of the menorah. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake attended Tuesday night's ceremony in McKeldin Square to mark the beginning of the eight-day Chanukah celebration. |
